I didn't set out to be a photographer.

I trained as an architect, and I've spent decades thinking about form, light and the way a space feels before it's even built.

Then I had my first baby, went on maternity leave, and somewhere in amongst the nappies and the sleep-deprived tears, I needed a creative outlet that had nothing to do with settling a newborn.

So I picked up a camera.

Turns out that camera didn't go back in the cupboard.

What started as "just documenting the kids" slowly turned into something bigger. I fell hard for the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surfcoast. The light out here does something ridiculous most mornings and evenings, and I couldn't stop trying to catch it. I'm also part of a group of hilarious, beautiful women who meet a couple of times a week to bathe under the sunrise in the ocean at Ocean Grove, rain, hail or shine, which is basically the reason I've got about a thousand sunrise shots to choose from.

Prints of those places and moments became Finch & Muse's first little offering, and they're still some of my favourites to make. Each one's a small piece of a morning or an evening I got to stand in — hopefully one you'd like a piece of too.
