Calling It A Day

There's a particular kind of light you only get right at the end of the day — when the sun's dropped low enough to set the whole sky on fire, but there's still enough of it left to see by.

These two were the last out, boards under their arms, walking up the dune as the light did its thing behind them. I shot this from way back on a zoom lens, which pulls everything in tight and flattens the distance — it's what gives the shot that quiet, intimate feeling even though I was nowhere near them.

Another one in the bag. Time to head home.
